For those of you traveling with little ones who wake up super early due to jet lag (we’re part of the 4:30am crowd!), head to Fisherman’s Bastion for serene, panoramic views of Budapest before the crowds arrive. This iconic landmark feels like a fairy-tale castle, and kids will enjoy exploring its turrets and arches. It’s a quick taxi or bus ride from most central accommodations, making it an easy early-morning adventure.
Pro Tip: Pack a light breakfast or grab pastries from a nearby bakery to enjoy while taking in the breathtaking views of the Danube and Parliament.
Mid-Morning: St. Stephen’s Basilica and Freedom Square

One of my favorite features of this playground, besides the incredible play structures that offer hours of endless play, is that there is a small cafe in the play area. You can order a beer, coffee, or ice cream to enjoy while you play. I truly wish more playgrounds had this feature!

- Snacks & Water: Always have snacks and a water bottle on hand to keep little ones happy and hydrated.
- Strollers: The city is stroller-friendly, but some attractions like Fisherman’s Bastion have stairs, so a baby carrier may also come in handy.
